Meet Robin, Authentic Pilates Instructor & Certified Reflexologist.
Having won a dance contest at a little county fair at the age of 4, it sparked a flame...A fire that still burns bright and has never wavered.
“HAD TO DANCE...HAD TO DANCE”
Right out of high school, I headed to NYC and enrolled in a long summer course at The Hoggs Conservatory of Performing Arts, where I received a DEA Certification (Dance Educators of America).
Tap and jazz were my forte. Ballet however, was another thing! Ha! I danced my way around the city, apprenticing in every school available for continuing education. It was fun and exciting, and I met some very interesting characters in my travels.
I finally landed my feet in Newtown, CT where I worked for The Lathrop School of Dance for 19 years. It was here in this studio, under the direction of Mack and Ginny Lathrop, that I would learn life-long lessons and skills of how to articulate myself, not only as a dancer but more importantly, as a teacher.
I worked with children and adults alike, and loved every minute of my work. As I transitioned into the world of wellness and fitness, I found myself back in NYC, this time at a Pilates studio called Drago’s Gym. Little did I know that my training would shape me for another 19 years of teaching. Under the direction of Romana Kryzanowska, a protégé of Joseph Pilates himself, I received my certification in Authentic Pilates. As you may have guessed, my passion for this modality runs deep as well.
New Canaan, CT has been my “work home” since graduation. I had worked for several studios before finding Julie, owner of Pryority Wellness, with whom I worked side-by-side with for 15 years, training in several modalities of certifications. There is a bond between us that will never sever. I am truly blessed for all my experiences and time spent at Pryority.
My credits over the years include:
The Eunice Ingham method of Reflexology (Internationally Certified)
Gyrotonic
The Garuda Method (Barre and Mat)
Yamuna Body and Face Rolling
Zumba Fitness
My love for the work I do and for the people that I’ve met along this road has been gratifying and rewarding beyond compare. I hope to continue this journey for as long as I can, discovering new forms of wellness, and best of all, being able to share it with both family and dear friends.
